Work in Progress

Here is a piece that has been painted, but not fired. Cute little Eli is only 5 weeks old and was such a trooper. He never even made a sound. Can't wait to get this fired!

Wow

Sometimes I paint a piece and know that I will have do that design using my own kids. This is one of those pieces. I LOVE it. The colors are so bright and the design is too cute. I have already reordered these trays so I can recreate this for my children. Erin.....I can't wait until you get our hands on this!!!

Leslie's Party

Here are some of the finished pieces from the Lipscomb party. I love working with this group. Some of these babies I have been painting since they were weeks old. It is amazing to see how fast they are growing. I always get to paint such fun pieces for everyone and Leslie is the sweetest hostess you can imagine. Thanks for all the fun times!

New Finished Pieces

Sorry it has taken me so long to post new items. Things have been crazy busy. My camera battery died on me a week or so ago and I am just now getting around to charging it. Here are some pix of finished pieces from events over the past couple of week. Enjoy!

What's This?

You guessed it....sweet cheeks! So parents like to have keepsakes of their baby other than hand prints. Sure, they might kill their parents when they get older, but it is just too cute to resist! I bet you have never seen a painted butterfly or apple like this before!

The Last of It!

Here they are...the last pix from the Cedartown party. If your pottery did not make it to the blog, I apologize. Things are so crazy right now I must move on the other parties. Thanks again to all of you who shared your beautiful children with me and allowed me to make some unique art for you. These pieces are priceless! I will be back in the Spring and I can't wait to see you all again and how your children are growing!

Lastly, to anyone on the blog that got left out this year due to a party cancellation on the 11th, please read. There was miscommunication about the date and unfortunately, the wrong date for the party was recorded. Here is the important part, the hostess knew about this the end of September....not 3 days before the party. I tried to make this right by offering any other date on the calendar year. I was willing to move ANY party to take care of you guys. Instead, I was told that was not possible. So, my point in writing about this is to get the truth out and to let you all know that I take misrepresentations about my business seriously. It is unfair to me and all that I have worked for. I hate this happened and I wish I would have had the opportunity to work with you all. I will be back in the Spring working with another hostess and can't wait!!

Take care until then!!

Almost Finished

Almost finished with my Cedartown party!! Had a few set backs with some names, but so far easy fixes. Things get a little confusing when you paint over 300 pieces/month. I will post more pix on Friday, including your tray with handles, Jolee. Also, another thanks to Jolee for always having my back! I know you know what I mean!!!

Family Platter

I love this platter that I just finished for the Hunter family. This is the second family platter I have done for them. The first had the 2 parents and their first daughter. The second has all four with a super sweet saying. Thanks for everything, Erin!

Cute Frame

Recently finished this frame for a sweet family in Gadsden. Boy, they have waited a long time for this one! Just wanted to post a pix for the family since they have to wait one more month to get it. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Can't wait to paint for you guys in Nov!

Georgia Pottery

Got to work with some awesome people from Cedartown, GA. There were a few complications in the beginning with party dates, but Jolee came to the rescue!! I honestly had a blast and it was so worth the drive. The town reminded me so much of my hometown....even the people. So many people brought their entire families to have every ones hands painted on platters. I even got to do grandparents/great grandparents. Jolee opened her home to us and made me feel so welcome. By the end of the party, she was helping us out like she had worked for us for years. As I have painted the pieces over the past couple of weeks, I could remember each sweet face as I painted their tiny prints into art. And oh some sweet babies....Bex, Coralee, Lillian... I really put my heart into this party and can't wait to come back in the Spring. I'm sharing the first fired load from the party. I hope all remaining pieces turn out as beautiful. I will be posting new pix as loads finish for all of my GA fans:)

Curlz & Twirlz

Southern Clay Babies just partnered-up with the maker of some great tutu's, Curlz & Twirls! These tutu's are handmade and are complimented with super sweet flower hats. Any length may be ordered in almost any color. The best part is the sets are only $50. Look for these combos to appear on my site soon. You may also email me if you are interested in ordering before they hit the site. What a great idea for Halloween, birthdays and dress-up!

Butterflies & Bullfrogs

Last month I did a fun event at this consignment boutique in Trussville. Cayna has a great store and easy to work with clients. I was very pleased with the results. Most orders were for ornaments, but some Christmas platters were ordered. We will be back there this Spring to do more pottery. I love working with new clients and hearing about their reactions once they get their pieces back. I think I made some repeat customers from this event and can't wait to work with them again next year!

Trussville Party

Had a great time recently working with Jennifer Bruno and her friends again. This was the second Christmas party I have done for the group and am loving the results so far. Jen picked out a great Winter Wonderland platter I'm sharing. Her little girl, Molly, has the cutest blond hair and blue eyes and is always so eager to paint. We joke that she will one day work along side of me. Jen calls herself my biggest fan. She has no idea how much that means! Many thanks to Jen for always welcoming me and more importantly, being my friend.

Kim Bittles Party

Just finished some fantastic pieces from Kim's party. With a little luck, I hope to have this party finished by the weekend. Love all the themes everyone picked out. It has truly been fun painting art out of the tiny prints. Oh, painting Annie the dog was an unique experience as well:)

Kristen Smith's Party

Here are some finished pieces from Kristen Smith's party. Everything so far has turned out beautifully. I hope to have all the pieces packaged by this weekend. Thanks to everyone who attended.

Fall Poster

Select Offerings is the children's clothing rep firm in the Midwest that has picked up my hat line. Was informed the other day that they will also be covering California and New Mexico!! Southern Clay Babies is also one of the 3 featured customers on the front of their brochure. Select Offerings made the suggestion that I have some posters made for the customers that will be selling my line in their stores. We decided to go with a Fall themed picture. To the left is the finished poster. Of course, I had to use a picture with my Ella Catherine in it:)

Heather Swanner

I was introduced to Heather Swanner photography several months ago. When I saw her site, I knew I had to get her to do some work for me. Talented does not even begin to describe her unique work. She recently emailed me some of the cutest pix to date of my hats. Next week, she will photograph my kids for the first time. I am sooo excited. I can not wait to meet Heather in person. For all of you who have not seen her work, check out http://www.heatherswannerphotography.com/. You will be amazed!

LOVE This!

Got some new platters in for this season. Just completed my first project on one a week ago and LOVE it! The size allows much room for artwork because I am able to use several prints. The platter can be used for so many different things. I think I am going to have to make myself one to put on the mantel.
